​How do we diagnose dry eye?

​InflammaDry is rapid, in-office test that detects MMP-9, an inflammatory marker that is consistently elevated in the tears of patients with dry eye disease. 

- InflammaDry yields results within 10 minutes and patients will have a confirmation of their diagnosis before the end of their visit.

- Not only does InflammaDry help diagnose Dry Eye, but it helps to identify the specific causes of it, allowing our doctors to prescribe the most effective treatment possible for each individual patient.

​Another cause of dry eye is Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), which occurs when a person’s meibomian glands (where the oil component of tears are produced) are clogged with dried or solidified tears.

​Lipiscan produces high-definition images that allows our doctors to directly view the health of your meibomian glands. Once meibomian glands are truncated, they do not naturally grow back to their original state, so early detection and treatment of MGD is so important!
